SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Friday, January 26, 2018
1) 37th ANNUAL AWARDS – ABSTRACT PRESENTATIONS
The Research Committee is announcing the 37th Annual Awards for investigators involved in clinical and basic science research related to pulmonary medicine.
Clinical and Basic Science research abstracts will be reviewed blind and evaluated by the Research Committee (chaired by Martin Joyce-Brady, MD) and the authors of the selected abstracts will be given the opportunity to present their research to the plenary audience as a ten minute synopsis as part of the Massachusetts Pulmonary Section 73rd Annual Meeting agenda, and will be honored with a $300 first prize award.
Abstracts can have been previously accepted or currently submitted to a national meeting.
Clinical and Basic Science Research Abstracts should be prepared as a maximum one page MSWord document, should include the abstract title and author listing with affiliations.
2) BEST CASES -- You are invited to submit your Best Cases of 2017 for discussion and presentation at the Massachusetts Pulmonary Section 73rd Annual Meeting.
The winner of the “Best Clinical Case” will receive an award of $300.
Best Case submissions for review should be prepared as either an overview MSWord document describing the case for consideration (no restriction on length), or as a set of preliminary slides (used for review purposes only).
Eligibility: Abstracts and Cases may be submitted and presented by health professionals at all levels and all disciplines. In addition to research carried out by MD/DOs and PhDs, we very much welcome submissions from other health professionals including nurses and respiratory therapists. Please note that where abstracts and cases are submitted from teaching hospitals/medical schools the Massachusetts Pulmonary Section will give preference to submissions from Fellows and other health professionals in training.
The deadline for submission of Award Abstracts and Cases is January 26, 2018. The online submission form should be completed for all submissions. In the case of multiple submissions a separate form should be completed for each submission.

Authors will be notified of acceptance/rejection by February 9, 2018.
Please note that upon acceptance for presentation, the submitting presenter will be required to provide disclosure/conflict of interest information for him/herself as well as all co-authors, in order to comply with accreditation requirements.
Selected presenters will be provided with full presentation guidelines and will be required to submit final slide presentations by February 23, 2018.
