As we reflect on 2017, many moments serve as vivid reminders of the challenges we face in our vision of a world free of lung disease, as well as the amazing power we have as an organization to bring about change. Because of the wonderful individuals, families, foundations and businesses all impacted by our mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, the American Lung Association has been able to make tremendous strides in the Southeast, such as receiving a four-star rating from Charity Navigator.
Our LUNG FORCE initiative has helped to unite women and their loved ones to stand together against lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer deaths among women and men. Because of your support we have been able to improve awareness of lung cancer and serve as a force working to defeat lung cancer.
We have worked diligently in the Southeast to provide comprehensive programs and educational resources such as Frankly Speaking about Lung Cancer, Asthma Educator Institute, Asthma Camps, Freedom from Smoking and LUNG FORCE Expos. With your assistance, we have partnered with communities to help save lives and remain committed to support lung health and healthy air.
Our fight today is critical. We never take breathing for granted, because millions of Americans fight for each breath. On behalf of our volunteer leadership and staff, we thank you.
