Spindletop Stache & Sweater Dash

December 2, 2017

This year’s “Spindletop Stache and Sweater Dash 5K” will benefit the American Lung Association’s efforts to help and families battling lung cancer. The race was inspired by Dr. Jules Heilser, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in April of 2014.  As a non-smoker and an avid runner, the diagnosis was a shock.  He had spent his entire career working in the cancer field, starting in 1975 when he began working for Nixon's War on Cancer.  He died in early 2015.

This event, which is December 2 in Lexington KY, was started by his youngest daughter Stacey Williams.  This is the fourth annual event and, as always, will honor his life and legacy.  LEARN MORE.
