Honolulu's First Respiratory Rally

Honolulu's First Respiratory Rally Educates and Empowers More than 50 People

On May 8, the American Lung Association in Hawaii hosted a Respiratory Rally patient education event at Hawaii Kai Independent and Assisted Living Community, 428 Kawaihae Street in Honolulu. The day featured educational sessions, inspirational messages, and exhibits. Workshop topics included Lung Health 101, Vog and Lung Health, Asthma Overview, Yoga for Breathing, information on traveling with oxygen, and more. The free event was attended by more than 50 people, who greatly appreciated the variety of topics.

Chronic lung disease is currently the third leading cause of death in the United State after heart disease and cancer. However, with proper education adn compliance with a treatment plan, patients can find relief from their symptoms.
