Boston Private Returns as Presenting Sponsor for American Lung Association’s Annual Boston Fight for Air Climb: Race Up Boston Place

(September 29, 2016) - Boston, MA

The American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb: Race Up Boston Place is proud to announce Boston Private as its presenting sponsor the second year in a row. The event will be held on Saturday, February 4 at One Boston Place.  The 12th Annual Fight for Air Climb expects over 2,000 participants and to achieve a fundraising goal of $500,000. Attendees include those affected by lung disease, their families and friends, healthcare professionals, advocates, and more than 600 firefighters, most of whom will climb in full gear. Participants “fight for air” by climbing the building’s 789 stairs, all to raise critical funds to fight lung disease and support clean air initiatives through research, advocacy, and education. An after-party celebration and awards ceremony will be held at Scholar’s Boston Bistro.

“Boston Private is a valued partner of the American Lung Association and we are grateful for its support during both our 2016 and 2017 Fight for Air Climbs in Boston,” said Jeff Seyler, President & CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast. “As our presenting sponsor, Boston Private contributed to last year’s success in a major way and we’re confident that this year’s Fight for Air Climb will be another memorable day for all. Thanks to our hosts at One Boston Place, this event truly captures the spirit of this great city, and has become an important tradition to Boston families who want to make a difference for those with lung disease.”

“We are pleased once again to help make The American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb in Boston possible, as it provides a worthwhile way to both support and promote lung health and participate in an amazing event,” said George Schwartz, President at Boston Private. “We have challenged our team to increase its efforts – aiming higher than last year – to double the number of climbers and in their personal sponsorship levels, to make this a cause where our efforts have a lasting impact on those fighting lung disease, and encourage others to join the climb next year.”

Boston Private is a leading wealth management and private banking company, headquartered in Boston and serving clients from 34 offices across the U.S. including Boston, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles and Palm Beach

The Lung Association’s Fight for Air climbs attract both elite athletes and novice stair climbers. Participants can choose to race, run, or walk up the stairs.
