Today, the American Lung Association in Wisconsin announced that Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the 10th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb at the U.S. Bank Center on March 10, 2018. The organization has supported the event as presenting sponsor for all ten years.
The Fight For Air Climb at the U.S. Bank Center in Milwaukee is the largest Fight For Air Climb in the nation, and is the top fundraiser for the Lung Association. The Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation sponsorship is an investment of $50,000 in lifesaving lung cancer research, local lung disease prevention and support. Over the years, Anthem has invested more than $350,000 in support of the Climb.
“Lung disease impacts more than 500,000 people in Wisconsin,” said Linda Witucki, executive director for the Lung Association in Wisconsin. “That’s why Anthem’s contribution as presenting sponsor is so significant in our community. From funding asthma education, to providing resources to those suffering from lung cancer, this support helps make people’s lives better every day.”
On March 10, 2018, thousands of Wisconsin residents will take to the stairs of the U.S. Bank Center, which includes 47 floors for a total of 1,034 steps in an effort to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease.
“The Fight For Air Climb is a tremendously creative and unique event and we should be proud as a community that ours here in Milwaukee is the most successful in the country,” said Paul Nobile, president of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin. “The American Lung Association helps people live better lives with lung disease every day and has made significant strides in finding a cure for lung disease. It’s an honor to support the American Lung Association and this event for the 10th year.”
The Fight For Air Climb helps save lives locally by raising awareness about the risk factors of lung disease, helping people manage their illness through educational trainings, by funding research to find a cure for lung cancer and much more. Nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to education, research and advocacy.
