American Lung Association and UnitedHealthcare Team Up to “Fight for Air”
(December 17, 2014)
The American Lung Association in Greater Chicago today announced UnitedHealthcare as the presenting sponsor of the association’s 2015 Fight for Air Climb at Presidential Towers (555 W. Madison Ave.) on Sunday, March 8.
The Fight for Air Climb at Presidential Towers is the Lung Association’s signature fund-raising event that includes friendly competition among participants such as the “Law Firm Challenge,” “Firefighter Challenge,” “Corporate Relay” and the “Family and Friends Relay.”
The proceeds of the event will help fund the American Lung Association’s ongoing support of research and advocacy in finding a cure for lung disease.
“UnitedHealthcare is grateful for the opportunity to support the American Lung Association to help people understand the importance of healthy lungs and to save lives by improving the quality of the air we breathe,” said Michael Telesky, Vice President, UnitedHealthcare of Illinois. “On behalf of our more than 1,000 employees who live and work in the Chicagoland area, we encourage local residents to participate in the 2015 Fight for Air Climb and help raise needed funds for – and awareness of – this important issue.”
People can register for $15 with the early bird discount until Jan. 9 at www.FightForAirClimb.org or by calling 312-781-1100. There is a $100 fund-raising commitment. Registration is $25 after Jan. 9, $35 after March 3, and $45 after March 7. If registering on event day, the total cost is $145, which includes both registration and fund-raising totals.
“We’re excited to have UnitedHealthcare as the Presenting Sponsor of the Fight for Air Climb, one of the most engaging and energetic events in which everyone can show their support. With their help and the funds raised from the event, we can help the nearly 1 million Chicagoland residents fighting lung disease today. The support will also further our efforts to understand the causes of lung disease, find better treatments and medications, and ultimately find a cure to once and for all end lung disease,” said Meghan Miller, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago.
