Absolute Respiratory Care, Inc. Boosts Its Support for American Lung Association's Fight For Air Climb Providence this March

The American Lung Association is pleased to again welcome Johnston-based Absolute Respiratory Care, Inc. as a sponsor of the which will be held on March 28 at the Omni Providence Hotel.  After sponsoring the Fight for Air Climb and forming a company team in 2014, the local respiratory care company has chosen to double its level of support for 2015 as well as its number of climbers and volunteers.

“Absolute Respiratory Care works every day with patients who have COPD, asthma and pulmonary fibrosis so being a part of this event is meaningful to us,”  said Dana Lesperance, Absolute Respiratory Care’s Director of Marketing and Sales, the company’s team captain and a member of the Fight For Air Climb’s Advisory Committee  “Not only is participating in the Fight for Air Climb a great team building experience for our employees, it’s another way for us to give back to the community and to the patients we serve on a daily basis.   Healthy air and healthy lungs matter to all of us and the work the American Lung Association does has a real impact on our patients and their quality of life.  That’s why we’re intensifying our effort.”

Absolute Respiratory Care
furnishes respiratory patients with caring, hands-on attention of experienced, skilled and compassionate therapists while providing physicians the assurance that their patients’ needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.The company delivers life improving nebulizers, oxygen and sleep therapy equipment directly to patients at their homes.The company’s respiratory therapists then train patients on how to use the equipment properly so they can best manage their disease.

Dozens of company teams, family teams, firefighters and individuals are expected to climb Omni Providence Hotel’s 22 flights of stairs at the Fight For Air Climb Providence in March.  The event, which raises funds to support the Lung Association’s lifesaving mission,  attracts elite stairclimbers and novice stairclimbers alike.
Participants can either climb as teams or as individuals. The event also includes a Firefighter Challenge where firefighters race against each other while wearing turnout gear. Climbers take off in 20 second intervals. Teams must have at least five members to qualify for team awards. Each climber is responsible for a registration fee and a $100 fundraising minimum.An after party and awards ceremony will be held immediately following the event.
