Tommy Williams Joins Lung Cancer Advocates from Every State on Capitol Hill to Fight for More Research Funding
Local San Antonio LUNG FORCE Hero Chanel Williams’s Husband Joined Volunteers from Across the Country to Urge Congress to Support Robust, Sustained Federal Funding Increases for Research
(March 22, 2016) - San Antonio, TX
Tommy Williams of San Antonio joined the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative and “LUNG FORCE Heroes” – Americans personally impacted by lung cancer – from every state at the U.S. Capitol to press Members of Congress for continued bipartisan momentum toward defeating lung cancer. During Advocacy Day, Tommy shared his experience with lung cancer. “When my wife, Channel, found out she had been diagnosed with lung cancer I was shocked. Seeing her suffer through various treatments is devastating,” explained Williams. “My wife could not join us for LUNG FORCE Advocacy Day because she is currently in the hospital with pneumonia. But it’s comforting to see initiatives like LUNG FORCE shedding light on lung cancer and providing a supportive community for the many people who are impacted by this disease, but more work is needed.”
