Ways to Give

By giving to the American Lung Association you are helping us fight for healthy air and the millions of Americans affected by lung disease. Your contribution supports research, program development, public policy, and sharing up-to-date information on respiratory diseases, their treatment and management.

There are many ways to help: Register to participate in an event, support an event participant in his or her fundraising efforts, donate in honor or memory of someone special, remember us in your will or trust or choose a creative way to give, like donating your old car.

  • Make a One-time Gift
Your personal contribution can be made online at any time. You can also download a form to mail in with your contribution. You will be supporting the vital research and programs that help those struggling with lung disease.
  • Give a Recurring Gift
Recurring gifts ensure stable funding for our work. Your monthly gift helps us effectively budget our funding throughout the year so we can better serve those whose lives are affected by lung cancer, asthma, COPD and other lung diseases.
  • Memorial & Honor Gifts
A contribution to the American Lung Association is a thoughtful way to recognize and honor someone close to you, especially if their life has been touched by lung disease. Gifts can be made to recognize milestones in someone’s life to express the sense of loss when someone loses their battle with lung disease. If you wish, upon receipt of your gift, the American Lung Association will send a note to the honoree or family acknowledging your gift.
  • Gift of Securities
Making a gift of stock or securities is an excellent way to both support our mission and gain potential tax benefits.
  • Give from Your Donor Advised Funds
If you have a Donor Advised Fund, you may want to consider making a grant from it to support the work of the American Lung Association.
  • Gifts from Your IRA or Retirement Plans
The IRA Charitable Rollover, which became permanent in 2015, provides you with an excellent opportunity to make a gifts during your lifetime from an asset that would be subject to multiple levels of taxation if it remained in your taxable estate.
  • Participate in Special Events
We need your help to make an impact in the fight against lung disease. Help support our unique fundraising events such as the Fight For Air Climb, LUNG FORCE Walk and Run/Walk events, cycling events and more.
  • Legacy Giving and Non-Cash Gifts
By making the Lung Association part of your financial planning, you are giving a gift that will impact the lung health of future generations. Options can include forms other than cash, such as securities (stocks, bonds or mutual funds), retirement plan distributions, life insurance policies and real estate.
