Tim Byrum, M.S.N., C.R.N.P.

Tim Byrum, representative delegate to the American Lung Association Council from Alabama, is a nurse practitioner at America's Best Care Plus, Inc. in Rainsville, Alabama, where he serves as the program director for ABC Plus Hospice. He has several years experience in pulmonary care, rural family practice, and community education in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and smoking cessation. His areas of expertise include advocacy, communications, fund-raising, public education, research, tobacco control and lung disease, and training/orientation. He received his BSN and MSN degrees from the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

Tim has been a volunteer with the American Lung Association of Alabama since 1998 and currently serves as a master trainer for the Freedom From Smoking® program. At the national level, he serves on the Lung Disease Action Committee. In addition to his work with the Lung Association, Tim is a member of the faculty at the University of Alabama Huntsville College of Nursing, a mentor trainer for the National Respiratory Training Center, and a founding member of the North Alabama Network Against Tobacco. Tim is an ex-smoker and is extremely interested in COPD and smoking cessation.
