Michael Flowers

Corporate Account Director

Michael Flowers, Corporate Account Director, Federal Markets, for Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is a long time volunteer who serves on the Atlanta Leadership Board of the American Lung Association of the Southeast. He is always looking for opportunities to promote the association’s mission and increase awareness, especially among public officials.

Michael convinced U.S. Congressman John Lewis, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee among other prestigious appointments, to visit the association’s Camp Breathe Easy. Currently, Congressman Lewis is sponsoring legislation which expresses support for the goals and ideals of the Year of the Lung 2010 (an initiative to raise awareness about lung health, initiate action worldwide, and advocate for resources to combat lung disease). Michael has a special interest in asthma and has obtained funding over the years to support asthma programs and services.

From recruiting community leaders to participation in the association’s fundraising events to identifying board members from the corporate community, Michael is involved in all aspects of the American Lung Association. He is a regular participant in the Fight for Air Climb, golf tournament and other fundraising events. “Michael is the very best kind of volunteer” said June Deen, state director in Georgia. “He has a great understanding of what is needed to move the Lung Association forward”.

Recently, Michael met with Chuck Connor, President and CEO of the American Lung Association to discuss his involvement with the association and offer his services to help broaden the association’s outreach on local, regional, and national levels.
