Kenneth Brown

Kenneth Brown is a volunteer with the American Lung Association of the Mid-Atlantic in West Virginia, where he serves as a school counselor. As the school counselor, Ken is a vital member of the education team. He helps all students in the areas of academic achievement; personal and social development; and career development. He is ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.

Ken has been facilitating Not-On-Tobacco as an alternative to suspension for almost a year in West Virginia. He is extremely dedicated to the children in his charge. During his tenure, Ken implemented three N-O-T classes in one semester, helping 22 students through the program. Ken’s efforts yielded a 22% quit rate and a 79% reduction rate! This school year he has already began facilitating two additional Not-On-Tobacco groups concurrently.

Ken’s dedication in helping his students helps the American Lung Association achieve its goal of reducing West Virginia teen tobacco use.
