Ceylon Leitzel

Member, Local Board or Executive Committee

Ceylon Leitzel has supported the American Lung Association’s Strategic Plan through volunteering and being the chair of our South Central PA Regional Leadership Board. He has familiarized himself with the goals and Strategic Plan of ALA. He takes every opportunity to help us move forward by helping us raise funds, support our programs and attending our events. Ceylon states, “That working together is what it is all about, we must all step up and do our part in order to succeed in moving ALA forward.”

Ceylon has demonstrated his creativity in helping support the ALA through his business by raising a great deal of money for the Association. He has his employees wear our t-shirts, puts out canisters and generally challenges his customers to get involved. He forwards every program & event opportunity to everyone he knows. At every Leadership meeting Ceylon makes suggestions as to how we can move forward by giving us new and creative ideas for our events and programs.

Mr. Leitzel’s many initiatives have helped us achieve our mission; he has sponsored our gala, walk and run for years, as well as creating a walk team that raised over $1,000 in October. At every opportunity he reaches out to all his contacts informing them about our events and programs. For the gala he donated a diamond and sapphire pendant with a value of $2,400. He also served as our auctioneer for our live auction helping us raise over $8,500. Ceylon’s work has also opened up opportunities for other volunteers. He worked with us in getting Hershey Medical Hospital involved in ALA programs through his contacts. This resulted in The Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Clinic at Penn State Hershey Medical Center along with the American Lung Association and the Alpha-1 Association  holding a FREE lung health screenings for Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Alpha-1.

Ceylon Leitzel has been extremely helpful in every way possible to the American Lung Association in Pennsylvania through the Camp Hill office. He has donated his money, ideas and even more importantly his time. He jumps in and helps without being asked. He is a huge extension of this organization.
