Lung Cancer
For over 100 years, the American Lung Association has been a champion for people affected by lung disease.
Today, the American Lung Association enjoys high levels of awareness and trust from the public, and is well-regarded for basing its prevention, education and advocacy actions on proven science. With our nationwide presence of staff and thousands of volunteers, no other organization is better suited to lead a comprehensive nationwide initiative to support people living with lung cancer.
Through this initiative, the American Lung Association is focused on the following:
- Providing patient education and support for people diagnosed
with lung cancer, their families and caregivers - Funding lung cancer research that one day will increase survival rates and
decrease the number of people who develop this deadly cancer - Increasing awareness of lung cancer as the number one cancer killer
- Implementing an advocacy strategy to address lung cancer as a national health priority
