Reach the Beach Fundraiser Provided Improved Course and Festive Finish Line in 24th Year

Oregon’s 24th annual Reach the Beach bicycle fundraising event May 17 raised more than $517,000 for the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific and provided a truly spectacular course for participants.  From the beautiful weather all day to the festive finish line party featuring a live band, riders experienced a fantastic event all benefiting the work of the Lung Association.

Major sponsors included PGE, Providence Cancer Center, LifeWise Health Plan of Oregon, Columbia Bank, the law office of Jeffrey Mutnik, and AAA.

This year, an improved focus on rider safety led to better signage, mats over railroad tracks, and marking pot holes along the route to keep riders out of harm’s way. Numerous riders complimented the ALA team for improved safety and support along the course.
