Susan Davis

Susan Davis is a volunteer member of the Leadership Board for the American Lung Association in North Dakota. She works as a cooperative development and communications specialist for Common Enterprise Development Corporation of Mandan.  Recently, she shared this remembrance of her late mother:

“If my mother had not gotten hooked on cigarettes when she was a teen, she would still be alive today. She would have celebrated her 83rd birthday on March 23.  But instead, she died a terribly long and painful death at age 63 from lung cancer. She left behind 10 children, 26 grandchildren, and one great grandchild who were deprived of many more years with her. It's been 20 years now since her death and not a day goes by that I don't miss her and wish that she had been able to quit her deadly addiction of smoking.”

Davis concluded by thanking the staff and fellow volunteers for “your dedicated work to prevent more deaths like my mom's.”
