American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest Receives 4-Star Charity Navigator Rating

(May 1, 2012)

We are honored to have received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the third consecutive year.

imageCharity Navigator has awarded the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest the prestigious 4-star rating for sound fiscal management, governance and commitment to accountability and transparency. Achieving the highest rating, four out of four stars, indicates our company adheres to the best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes our mission in a fiscally responsible way.

For the past 10 years, Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator, has been examining and highlighting charities that excel in being efficient, ethical and open. All ratings are available for free so donors can have access to essential information about charities and give them greater confidence when making charitable contributions. It is estimated that Charity Navigator influenced almost $10 billion in charitable gifts last year.

Receiving this award once is a huge accomplishment, but three times puts us in a top-tier league of all charities. Only 9% of charities reviewed by Charity Navigator have received at least three consecutive 4-star evaluations.

We are truly honored and proud of all staff, volunteers and donors who have contributed to making our organization a charitable leader and helped us earn this 4-star rating. Without all of you, our Fight for Air could not be as successful.
