Research

Our quest to find cures and new and improved treatments for lung disease uses a multi-faceted approach to discovery. The American Lung Association Nationwide Research Program supports both the basic and applied sciences related to lung health. In New York, the American Lung Association offers grants for work aimed at the prevention and treatment of lung disease, and funds Asthma Clinical Research Centers. Learn more about research

Asthma Clinical Research Centers (ACRC)

The ACRC network is an American Lung Association sponsored research program seeking to conduct large clinical trials on solutions to real life problems in managing asthma. The network, with 18 clinical centers and a data coordinating center, is the largest of its kind conducting clinical trials involving large numbers of subjects, and plays an important role in asthma research. Three centers are located in New York: Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College, New York Consortium (NYU and Columbia), and North Shore-LIJ Medical Center.
