Bloomfield Life

In a role reversal, members of the Bloomfield Fire Department need your help.

No, they don't need you to man a firetruck or fight a fire. But they do need help saving more lives.

They are suiting up for the second annual Fight for Air Climb in New York City on Saturday, Jan. 21, to raise money for the American Lung Association.

A group of local fire fighters will don their equipment next month and climb 55 stories, all for charity.

The firefighters can't do it without your help, however. Each member has set a personal fundraising goal.

The lung association hopes to raise $150,000 from the entire event.

Last year, a group of Bloomfield fire fighters took part in the first event, where they climbed 40 flights of stairs. This year, they will have to go up an additional 15 stories.

To donate , visit Mail checks, payable to The American Lung Association in New York, to Attention: Serena Arrabito, 21 W. 38th St, Third Floor, New York, N.Y. 10018.

Include "Bloomfield Fire Department" on the check's memo line.
