Westchester.com: Burke to hold information day for people with COPD

White Plains, NY - The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Program will host a resource day for those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and their caregivers Thursday, November 18, 2010.

COPD Day events will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Burke’s Wood Pavilion, Building #7, 785 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains.

Lectures will cover the topics of living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, nutrition and COPD, traveling with oxygen, exercise and lung disease, breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Free screenings, chair massages, support group information and inhaler and nebulizer demonstrations will be offered.

Exhibitors include the Westchester County Office of Aging, the American Lung Association, and representatives from area community wellness programs and medical equipment companies.
