Richard Sveum, MD

Richard Sveum, MD, is a member of the Leadership Board of the American Lung Association in Minnesota (ALAMN). He is a member of the Medical Board for the ALAMN’s Camp Superkids program and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest.  An allergy specialist with Park Nicollet Clinic, Sveum also serves as a clinical professor in Pediatrics and Medicine for the University of Minnesota Medical School.

Dr. Sveum is a long-time volunteer leader for the American Lung Association in Minnesota, with a strong passion for the asthma camp program and the many children and families the program has served. He is also a member of the national Consortium on Children’s Asthma Camps.

Sveum has an undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College and a medical degree from the University of Minnesota.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He has been named as a “Top Doctor” in the Twin Cities by Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine. He is an avid swimmer, rare book collector, and president of the Friends of the Sherlock Holmes Collection at the University of Minnesota.
