Over $180,000 Raised in the Fight For Air Climb in Minneapolis!
(March 2, 2012)—
On Saturday, February 25, more than 600 participants came to the Accenture Tower in downtown Minneapolis for our 2012 Fight For Air Climb. They scaled 30 flights – that’s 660 stairs – to see who could make to the top the fastest. Many endurance seekers opted for the “Ultimate Climb” where they ascended the tower as many times as they could in one hour – the new record is nine times!
Together, our climbers raised more than $180,000 for the Fight for Air with donations still coming in. The Golden Valley and Chanhassen Firefighter teams each contributed more than $10,500 to that amazing total.
Our Climb was full of passionate climbers who wowed us with their stories of perseverance and hope as they climbed in memory or in honor of loved ones or as a personal physical challenge or fitness goal.
THANK YOU to all our climbers, sponsors, supportive spectators, donors and volunteers for making this year’s climb such a success. We increased our number of climbers by 150 and can’t believe the generosity of all those involved. This amazing feat wouldn’t have been possible without your help and we thank you not only for fundraising, but for helping to raise awareness about the importance of our cause.
Photos are available here for the climb and here for the after party. We’d love for you share with us your memories and photos on Facebook and Twitter.
