COPD Awareness Month: Football Giveaway

The American Lung Association in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia is working with Quality DME to create awareness for COPD, the third leading cause of death in the United States.  Thanks to Quality DME, four lucky people will be sitting on the 40 yard line on December 9 as the Redskins and Ravens battle it out in this regional rivalry. Read on to find out how your connection to COPD may help you score tickets to this big game!

Rules for Eligibility:

  • The subject of the story submitted must be a resident of Maryland, Virginia, or Washington,  DC
  • The subject of the story submitted must be diagnosed with COPD, asthma, or another lung disease
  • The subject of the story submitted must grant permission the American Lung Association and/or Quality DME to use their stories as a way to promote lung health awareness
  • Stories should be in the form of a short essay of no more than 200 words about the person’s battle with lung disease and what attending this game would mean for that person. The subject of the story must be aware of the submission
  • Stories submitted will become the property of the American Lung Association and may be re-printed and used for promotional purposes, whether in original or edited format
  • Stories must be received by midnight on Sunday, November 25, 2012. Only e-mail submissions will be accepted
  • Two stories will be selected and each will receive a pair of tickets to the December 9, 2012 game between the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens to be played at FedEx Field in Landover, MD
  • Persons whose stories are selected will be notified by Monday, December 3, 2012
  • Employees of the American Lung Association and Quality DME, and their families, are ineligible for this promotion
  • Football tickets given away as part of this promotion are non-transferrable
  • Parking fees at FedEX Field or other game-related expenses are the responsibility of the ticketholders

How the Best Stories will be Selected:

  • Stories will be judged by a panel consisting of representatives of the American Lung Association and Quality DME
  • Judges will select five finalists, then conduct a random drawing for the tickets from among the finalists
  • The decision of the judges is final
