Tricia Shi

Tricia Shi is currently a sophomore at Valley High School.  She is an accomplished violinist and debater, admitted twice into the All-State orchestra and qualifying to the Tournament of Champions.  Tricia also represented Iowa at the national Mathcounts competition and is a top performer at various other math and science contests.  She hopes to major in biomedical engineering and minor in applied mathematics.  Eventually, Tricia wants to become a biomedical engineer so that she can help cure diseases.

Volunteering for the Lung Association is her first step to help prevent and combat chronic conditions.  Since January 2010, she has participated in the Active with Asthma planning committee, volunteered at the Fight for Air Climb and the Fight For Air Walk/5k Run, recruited other high school students to get involved with Lung Association activities, researched contact information for distributing flyers, and entered data for the Smoke-Free Iowa Pledge campaigns. Tricia also maintains several critical databases for our event mailings lists and works quickly and efficiently on everything she does.

Thank you Tricia for your dedication to the American Lung Association in Iowa.  We're proud to put you in the Spotlight!
