Lance Lewis

We are honored to present Lance Lewis as our Volunteer in the Spotlight.

In 2009, Lance was told he would need a lung transplant after the effects of COPD had taken their toll. After two years on the waiting list, Lance received word that there was a match and he would receive a new lung.  When he found out his donor was IMPD Officer David S. Moore, he made a commitment to David’s family to live life to the fullest.  Lance tells us:

I have promised the Moore family that I will use their gift, and my new abilities, to the fullest to honor the life of their son David, a true warrior. If it were not for their selfless act of kindness during their time of grief, I wouldn't be able to participate in events like the Fight for Air Climb.

Lance is Team Captain for “David’s Warriors” and has set a personal goal of $500 for his first Climb.  He, his family, and the Moore Family were recently featured in a story about their friendship on Fox59: Watch their story here.

Lance, we are thankful for your resilience, your passion to help others, and your dedication to keeping David’s memory alive. We’re fortunate to have an event participant like you.
