The American Lung Association of Indiana, in conjunction with the Indiana State Department of Health, performs administrative duties surrounding TB certification classes intended for health care professionals to give TB skins tests and follow-up evaluations.

Basic Tuberculosis Education Program

These classes are  to learn how to give and read the TB skin test. Find a location near you and contact the instructor directly to sign up for the class and find out if there are any applicable fees. The Basic Card received during this class is valid for 3 years.

Basic Revalidation Education Program

A revalidation class needs to be taken within 3 years and 30 days. Longer than that, the person would need to retake the Basic Course.

Instructor Tuberculosis Education Program

To become a TB Instructor to teach the Basic and Re-Validation TB skin test course. Find a location near you and contact the Trainer directly to sign up for the class and find out if there are any applicable fees. You need to hold the Basic course validation card for 6 months before applying to become a TB Instructor. Instructors must renew their validation with the American Lung Association on an annual basis, usually in January.
