American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb at Presidential Towers Raises Funds and Awareness

(March 10, 2013)

Chicago, IL  – On Sunday, March 10, nearly 1500 participants climbed one, two, three or all four Presidential Towers in the American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb. Participants included elite climbers, corporate teams, family teams, many climbing for a friend or family member with lung disease, ultimate imageclimbers and emergency responders. Climbers raised $300,000 to fight lung disease in this signature event of the American Lung Association.

This year, the cast of NBC’s Chicago Fire took a break from filming and participated in the climb. The cast cheered on the firefighters who climbed and spent time mingling with other climbers.

“We heard some incredible stories of hope and courage from our climbers, so many of whom were climbing in honor or in memory of someone with lung cancer, asthma or COPD,”
said Meghan Miller, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago. “And we were especially excited to have the cast of Chicago Fire join us, as well as climbers from more than 15 states.”

The Lung Association thanks all who participated and raised funds, including:
