Development Intern
Responsibilities:
Primary Job Function:
To work with the American Lung Association staff to implement signature events and engage donors across Greater Chicago.
Reports To:
Special Events Manager
Position Goals and Responsibilities:
- Gain a basic understanding of the American Lung Association & nonprofit operations.
- Become knowledgeable about Greater Chicago mission-driven programs and Signature Events.
- Participate in staff meetings and webinar learning opportunities.
- Understand branding guidelines and implementation.
- Create portfolio upon completion of internship
Special Events:
- Assist with volunteer communication, outreach, and recruitment.
- Create & disseminate materials for event promotion.
- Utilize internet & traditional marketing resources to advertise event.
- Assist in securing in-kind donations.
- Assist with mailings.
- Write thank you letters and create other recognition for sponsors, contributors, participants & volunteers.
Part-Time, Unpaid Position:
Flexible Schedule, 12 Hours/week minimum
Available to attend Fight for Air Climb events February 11th-12th and March 10th-11th
College Credit dependent on institution

Qualifications:
- Non--smoker
- Strong writing skills
- Comfortable speaking to media, patients, volunteers, and sponsors
