Associate, Special Events - Springfield, IL
Responsibilities:
The Special Events Associate works directly with the Special Events team to support day to day activities of the management of two signature events. Tasks include, but are not limited to: Donation requests and follow up; maintaining event sponsor and participant spreadsheets, data input and tracking of event activities; processing mailings and invoices; assisting with marketing opportunities; researching potential sponsor opportunities for events as requested; and providing additional technical support as requested.
Essential Functions
- Making oral/written donation requests and continuing with timely follow-up
- Maintaining up to date event sponsor and participant spreadsheets
- Assisting with data input and tracking of event activities.
Assisting in communications, meetings, follow-up and other day-to-day event activities - Processing mailings and invoices requested
- Assist Manager with marketing opportunities for both events
- Exhibiting the ability to work well with staff, volunteers and donors
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Demonstrating an understanding and commitment to the organization and its mission
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Internet applications
- Experience with database management is a plus
- Interest in expanding skill-set a plus
- Must have valid drivers’, license and reliable transportation
- Must be a non-smoker and a non-user of any tobacco
Other Requirements
- Hold valid driver's license.
- Abstain from use of tobacco in any form.
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. (event supplies)
Hours
- 20-25 hours/week
