We salute our outstanding volunteers in the Fight For Air!

Kristine is the Public Affairs Manager for the South Inland Region Southern California Gas Company. She joined the Leadership Board for the American Lung Association in California, Inland and immediately assumed the role as Chair even though it was her first year on the Board. One of the first things she did was to help secure a Fight For Air Walk sponsorship from her company.

 




peter-anastassiouPeter Anastassiou
Peter is a founding member and the first Leadership Board Chair for the American Lung Association in California, Los Angeles. He is a certified property manager and the General Manager of the Aon Center, which houses the Los Angeles Fight For Air Climb. His strong leadership of the inaugural Board and commitment to the Lung Association has been instrumental in the growth of events and community partnerships in Los Angeles. Peter has taken on statewide responsibilities as a member of the Southern California Asthma Management Program (SCAMP) Camp Task Force and Open House/Donor Day sub-committee. Peter leads by example in helping to further our mission for cleaner air and healthier lungs.

 

 

afif-el-hasanAfif El-Hasan, MD
Dr. El-Hasan is currently the Leadership Board Chair for the American Lung Association in California, Orange County. He has been a volunteer for almost ten years, and primarily works with the Air Quality Management District to provide expert testimony on air quality issues. Dr. El-Hasan is a member of the SCAMP Camp Planning Task Force and will be volunteering at this year’s camp to provide medical oversight of the campers. He is strongly committed to the Fight For Air and is always willing to speak on the Lung Association’s behalf as needed. 

 

 

jim-gogek Jim Gogek
Jim is the current Leadership Board Chair for the American Lung Association in California, San Diego. His passion for anti-tobacco policy and clean air has been inspirational to both volunteers and staff. Jim is always willing to represent the organization in the media to discuss tobacco control and clean air issues. He was a leader in the fight to defeat Prop 29, and is now very engaged in the Yes on Prop 29 campaign.

Chris is the current Leadership Board Chair for the American Lung Association in California, Sacramento. Chris leads by example and helps in creating a vision and direction for the organization. His strong stewardship and dedication has been instrumental in the success of the Fight For Air Climb in Sacramento. Chris is an Air Pollution Specialist for the California Air Resources Board.





linda-hinojosaLinda Hinojosa
Linda has been a champion in implementing asthma education and policy in Kern County. She has been instrumental in furthering air quality awareness by implementing the Air Quality FLAG program in the Delano Unified School District. Linda is deeply involved and has connected the Lung Association with the following spheres of influence: health and wellness, educational system, and underserved populations.





fred-lurmannFred Lurmann
As an air quality scientist working on ground-breaking studies assessing the impacts of air pollution on children’s lungs, Fred lives and breathes the mission of the American Lung Association in California. A long time volunteer, Fred has authored Op Eds and Letters to the Editor and testified at key meetings on the need for stronger air quality laws to protect public health. This year, Fred stepped into the role of Leadership Board Chair for the American Lung Association in California, Greater Bay Area, a perfect fit for his outstanding commitment and dedication to our mission.
