Tobacco Counter Marketing
DID YOU KNOW?
There is a product out there that if used as intended will kill one out of every three people who use it.
To stay in business, the tobacco industry needs to replace the 1200 people that die EVERY DAY in the U.S. from a tobacco related illness.
If current rates continue, 22,000 youth under 18 alive in Alaska now will die prematurely from using tobacco products. In fact, 89% of people who smoke started before they were 18 years old. There’s a reason for that. The tobacco industry spends over $85,000 EVERY DAY on advertising that targets Alaskan youth. You and your friends are the ones they want to replace those who die.
In 1998, the tobacco industry was sued for BILLIONS. During that time, they were forced to expose classified internal documents.
This is what Big Tobacco has to say about YOU.

“Today’s teenager is tomorrow’s potential regular customer”
Philip Morris, makers of Marlboro cigarettes
“We don’t smoke that s**t, we just sell it. We reserve that for the young, the black, the poor, and the stupid.”
RJ Reynolds, makers of Camel cigarettes
“If you are really and truly NOT going to sell to children, then you are going to be out of business in 30 years.”
Liggett Tobacco Company, makers of Lark and L&M cigarettes
WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT?
A lot more than you think! You can join the thousands of youth across the United States fighting against the deception and manipulation of an industry that is targeting YOU and your friends as their next victims!
