Outright Bequest

An outright bequest leaves a specific cash sum or property like securities or real estate.

Expressed as a specific sum of money:

I give to the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest/local American Lung Association the sum of $___.

Expressed as a specific asset or item:

I give to the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest/local American Lung Association ___.

Residuary Bequest

A residuary bequest is a bequest of all, or a portion, of your estate after other specific bequests have been made.

Expressed as

I give to the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest/local American Lung Association the residue (or ___ share of residue) of my estate.

Undesignated Bequest

For an undesignated bequest you may add "for its unrestricted charitable use and purposes as its governance may determine" to the above statements.

Restricted Bequest

To restrict your bequest to a particular purpose, you may add, "to be used to benefit the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest/local American Lung Association's ___." (research, helpline, youth programs, for example).
