Legacy Giving

Most of us, if given the chance, would like to leave a lasting legacy that leads to a better world.

We would like our generosity to give us the satisfaction of knowing that we have done something important for those who follow us.

The American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest understands that caring for your family comes first.  After doing so, we would honored to be included in your legacy plan.

There are almost as many variations on ways to make a legacy plan as there are needs to be met, and we encourage you to learn more through the sections in the toolbar.

A prevalent way to provide a legacy gift is by a bequest in one’s Will. The suggested language to leave a bequest to your local American Lung Association is:

"I, (name), of (city, state ZIP), give, devise, and bequeath to the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest, with corporate offices at 13100 West Lisbon Road, Brookfield, WI 53005 the sum of $_________ (and/or percentage of the residue or description of property) to be used for its general purposes."

The American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest serves Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.  If you wish to specify the address of your local American Lung Association office, check our list.

Our Federal Tax ID No: 20-4392201.

The American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest would be pleased to provide additional information to you or your attorney, accountant or tax advisor.

If you prefer to remain anonymous, your gift will be kept completely confidential.  But at the same time, recognition of your gift can encourage others to do the same.  Whatever the case, we will honor your wishes, because we appreciate your support.

Your desire to make a difference can help researchers find cures; help children and adults manage their lung disease; help people quit smoking; and help the fight for clean air.

Thank you kindly for your good consideration.
