Responsibilities:

The Corporate & Private Foundation Coordinator works closely with Senior Management and the Grant Development Team to identify potential corporate and private foundation partners in select markets in our seven states.  Tasks include, but are not limited to: Corporate and foundation research; initial communication to prospects to gauge interest in ALA mission and/or further exploration with local staff, initial letter of intent submissions and assistance with grant submissions.

  • Researching and reviewing grant opportunities from corporate and private foundation sources in selected markets in Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.
  • Initial contact with viable corporate and foundation prospects to arrange exploration meetings for local staff.
  • Initial submission of letters of intent to qualified corporations and/or foundations.
  • Assistance in maintaining tracking and filing systems for ALAUM Grant Development.
  • Assistance in submitting prepared grant proposals.
  • Demonstrating an understanding and commitment to the organization and its mission.
  • Exhibiting the ability to work well with staff, volunteers and donors.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience researching funding opportunities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Internet applications
  • Experience with health organizations is a plus
  • Familiarity with grant development is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight timeframes
  • Must be a non-smoker and a non-user of any tobacco
