Kansas Legislative Priorities

  • Smoke-free Air
Due in no small part to efforts by the American Lung Association, Kansas is one of the latest states to provide smoke-free environments at work for citizens.  On February 25, 2010 the Kansas Legislature passed the Kansas Indoor Clean Air Act - a comprehensive smoke-free law prohibiting smoking in all public places and places of employment, including bars and restaurants, which went into effect on July 1, 2010.  Defense of that law’s provisions will be a continual priority for the lung association in this state.
