Calling MSB Members for a Unique Volunteer Opportunity


Are you interested in a unique volunteer opportunity?  The American Lung Association of the Northeast will host the 29th annual Autumn Escape Bike Trek (AEBT) the weekend of September 27 – September 29, 2013.  We are looking for volunteers to support this beautiful ride! 

The Autumn Escape Bike Trek is a 3-day cycling adventure across Cape Cod, MA.  Trekkers will ride from Plymouth to Provincetown for a 2 or 3 day ride that spans either 105 or 160 miles.


Friday, Sept. 27th - Plymouth in the morning
Friday, Sept. 27th - Sandwich
Saturday, Sept. 28th - Brewster
Sunday, Sept. 29th – Provincetown


Trekkers raise funds in the fight against lung disease, to fund valuable programs, lifesaving research and advocacy related to lung diseases and clean air.

Overnight accommodations and meals are provided to all volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers to fill these important roles:

•    SAG Vehicle Drivers- Drive and provide transportation and support to cyclists who need assistance.
•    Luggage Crew – Distribute and deliver of all trekker luggage throughout the weekend.
•    Registration & Check In – Register participants and hand out t-shirts.
•    Rest Stop Volunteers - Keep rest stop supplies adequate for each day.  Assist in rest stop set up, break down and clean-up.
•    Route Marshalls – Help ensure the safety of the cyclists by assisting with course navigation.
•    Finish Line Decorations & Cheerleading – Set up finish line decorations each day.  Cheer on the cyclists at the finish line each day.
•    Facility Set Up & Tear Down – Set up facility to prepare for arrival of trekkers.
•    Facility & Utility Crew – Ensure delivery of items as needed to all areas of fixed facility.  Assist with tent set up and break down.
