It’s 12.12.12 and there are (at least) 12 ways to support the Lung Association

(December 12, 2012)

To commemorate 12.12.12, we’ve compiled a list of 12 ways you can support the American Lung Association’s fight for healthy lungs and healthy air not just today, but throughout the whole season!  Who knew there were so many ways to give back?

If you donate TODAY 12.12.12, please consider supporting us in one of the two Community Giving Days in which we are participating:  ROC the Day and Valley Gives.  Your support of these events can help make the Lung Association eligible for one of the much larger gifts that the sponsors are awarding to local nonprofits with the most donations.

No matter what the size of your gift, or in which way you choose to support us, please know that we consider any help you can give a blessing that brings us closer to realizing our vision of living in a world free of lung disease.  Thank you and Happy Holidays!

12 Ways to Support the American Lung Association:

1. Participate in a Community Giving Day with the Lung Association ROC the Day with us in Rochester or support us through Valley Gives in Western Massachusetts.

2.  Be a part of one of our Fight for Air Climbs  or Treks

3.  Make a donation to Christmas Seals® at Christmasseals.org or purchase a gift of your choosing in our Christmas Seals shop.

4.  Purchase a Golf Privilege Card for a friend or family member -- or snag one for yourself!

5.  Donate your used vehicle to the Lung Association.  Call list 1-800-577-LUNG or fill out our online donation form.

6. Give someone you love the gift of Freedom from Smoking® Online. A one year premium membership costs just $40 but can be the most meaningful and remembered gift a person who wants to quit smoking can receive in their lifetime.

7.  Remember or honor a loved one by making a memorial or expressive gift to the Lung Association.

8.  Shop the Lung.  Choose from a wide range of merchandise that will let others know you support the Lung Association’s efforts to promote healthy lungs and healthy air.

9.  Make a general donation to our mission to save lives by preventing lung disease and promoting lung health.

10.  See if your donation to the Lung Association is eligible for a match from your employer.  Matching gifts can make your donation go twice as far.  Check here.

11.  Lend your voice to our fight for air by signing up to become an e-advocate. When your support is needed on local, state and federal matters affecting air quality and lung health, you’ll be notified and given direction on how you can help.

12. Volunteer. Volunteering doesn’t cost money but volunteers who give of their time and talent are crucial to our ability to fulfill our mission. If you think volunteering may be right for you, click here to learn more about ways you can give back by volunteering at the Lung Association.
