Lung Association to Train Freedom From Smoking Facilitators October 23-24 in Springfield

The American Lung Association of the Northeast will be offering its Freedom From Smoking ® (FFS) Facilitator training program on October 23 and 24 at the Lung Association’s office in Springfield, located at 393 Maple Street. The one and a half day training prepares participants to deliver the Lung Association's eight-session group smoking cessation program to current smokers who desire to quit. Graduates of the facilitator program will be certified to run FFS clinics.

The training will be held from 9 a.m. until 4p.m. on Tuesday, October 23 and from 9 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, October 24. Those interested in registering for the class may do so online by visiting the Lung Association’s website at LungNE.org. Registrations will be accepted until the course is filled.

The cost for the facilitator training, including all materials, is $250. All participants will receive a copy of the Freedom From Smoking® facilitator guide, a sample participant workbook with relaxation CD, a certificate of completion, access to the Freedom From Smoking® Facilitator’s website and additional resources and information needed to run the program.  Ongoing assistance with program implementation is also provided by the American Lung Association.
