Volunteer Spotlight: Judi Look

American Lung Association celebrates volunteer appreciation week

Augusta, ME (April 20, 2012)

The week of April 15th, 2012 is recognized as National Volunteer Week. The American Lung Association celebrates their beloved volunteers year-round, but recognizes truly exceptional volunteers on this occasion.

Judi Look has been a dedicated volunteer for the American Lung Association’s annual Trek Across Maine for the past four years. “Judi has gradually turned herself into one of our most key volunteers with her ability to assist with managing all event volunteers; she is always willing to step in and help in any way,” said Jeff Seyler, President & CEO for the American Lung Association of the Northeast.

Not only does Judi show up and give her all on Trek weekend, she also spends much of the year doing the same. Year after year, she takes on more responsibility and plays a bigger role in the event’s success. Judi is a part of the Volunteer Recruitment Committee and often visits third party events on behalf of the non-profit organization.

On event weekend, Judi is responsible for managing all event volunteers. This is no small feat, considering more than 650 people volunteered for the Trek Across Maine in 2011. Those numbers are only expected to grow as the event itself grows larger with each passing year. It is because of her dedication and ability to handle any and all situations that Judi will continue to be a most trusted American Lung Association volunteer.
