New & Fun Events

The American Lung Association has benefited from the generosity of many individuals over the past century.  While many choose to participate in our Fight For Air walks, stairclimbs, and bike treks some supporters find it especially meaningful and rewarding to plan and host their own unique special event on our behalf.

To help inspire you, here are a few examples of successful events that have planned by local residents committed to our mission of saving lives by preventing lung disease and improving lung health:

  • After receiving a diagnosis of lung cancer, Michelle McMahon was determined to raise awareness about lung cancer as well as needed funds to promote further research.  She held her first fundraiser in September 2010.  Read Michelle's story here.
  • High asthma rates in the Bronx prompted P.S. 396 Bronx to hold their own Asthma Awareness walk in the community to raise awareness about the disease and support the Lung Association's work to fight asthma.

If you would like to join the "Fight for Air" by hosting an event to benefit the American Lung Association, please contact us at  Our staff is ready and willing to assist you in determining what type of event will best help you achieve your goals.

We thank you for your interest in creating a successful event to fight lung disease and promote healthier lungs!
