My Dad's Story

About 12 years ago my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. Probably the most devastating thing to hear is that one of your parents has cancer. After removing the upper left lobe of his lung, some ribs and radiation, he had beaten the cancer. But the radiation caused nerve damage which made it hard to heal. This was the start of many and I mean MANY surgeries for Dad. He had come to accept this would have to be his new way of life. Through the years he suffered from COPD and an ongoing battle with infections and pneumonia, until the doctors decided there was nothing more they could do for him. Over his last year with us he spent most of his time in and out of the hospital. This is where we would have father/daughter sleepovers! I miss him more and more everyday!

God Rest His Soul. On November 12, 2010, he ended his battle when he peacefully passed away in my arms.

I love you, daddy. You will be in my memory forever.
