Joanita M. Wilkinson

My mom Joanita was diagnosed with COPD in her 40's, yet she continued to smoke. She finally quit several years ago after a hospitalization for COPD. Now at the young age of 54 she is suffering with end stage COPD. Every day is a struggle for her yet she keeps on fighting.  She now requires help with all activities of daily living. My mom has endored many heart aches including going through the pre-lung transplant testing only to be told she was not a candidate. Every day I pray that today will be a good breathing day for her. My mom Joanita is by far the the most courageous and strongest person I will ever know. It is a great struggle for my family, myself and friends to watch such an outgoing person battle this vicious disease.
