Joshua Solomon

Joshua is a senior at Oakland University majoring in Marketing.  He is also the Director of Social Media for the American Marketing Association at Oakland University.  He is in charge of designing and maintaining the AMA at Oakland University’s website and maintaining their social media accounts.  He has also been a member of Oakland University’s Student Congress -- all while maintaining a 3.6 GPA and working as a manager for the Great Lakes Tent Company and managing their website and social media outlets.

When asked why he accepted the intern position with the ALA Joshua said, “Today, Internships are a must for college students. The reason I chose to intern here at the American Lung Association is for the hands-on experience at a non-profit that is continuing to make a positive impact in today’s world. At most internships you’d simply be picking up coffee for the office, but at the ALA I work one on one with everyone in the office.  I get to work on the same projects that my boss is working on and my opinions are valued the same as any other employee’s.”
“The American Lung Association is devoted to issues that matter, such as clean air and healthy lungs.  Interning here, I know that the work I put in is part of a whole to improve the world we live in.  It may not be listed in their job posting, but here at the ALA you can leave the office each day with a feeling of accomplishment knowing you’re helping keep people informed and healthy.”
