Erin Bowman

The 2011 Breath of Life Gala in Lexington, Kentucky was one of the most successful in recent years.   Attendance, spirits, and funds raised were all high, and this was largely due to the Breath of Life Gala Committee.  Erin Bowman is a veteran member of this committee.

Erin began volunteering with the American Lung Association in January 2006. Her company, ConvenePro, is very involved with the American Lung Association and encourages their employees to participate if they find the cause fulfilling.

Erin took a special interest in the lAmerican Lung Association.  She lost her grandfather to lung cancer and she also suffers from asthma.  Erin appreciated the efforts that ALA takes in raising awareness of both of these diseases and decided to get involved.

Erin didn’t stop at just getting involved herself.  She has engaged her family, friends, and coworkers, teaching them about the Lung Association’s work and even recruiting new donors and volunteers.  In addition, she took on a leadership role within the Breath of Life Gala Committee, heading up the silent auction component of the event, which brought in over $6,000 in 2011.

Erin says, “The friends and networking connections that I've made along the way were just an added bonus to the great feeling volunteering for such a worthy cause gives me.”
