I am a mother of two boys. Both of which have severe asthma and allergies.  Our lives are effected everyday. Both boys are on more than two medications a day to help them play. Nothing is worse than telling your child they can't play like other children because of their lungs. My youngest son Austin, was born premature and now has severe lung problems.  We are very lucky that he has great doctors and even the pharmacy staff to help keep him breathing correct.  He just had his 11th surgery in relation to allergies and asthma. My hope is that one day Asthma will not run my family.

We did find an injection that he was getting monthly that really, really helped him.  Xolair was a miracle drug for Austin.  However, now the FDA has said that children under the age of twelve should not get this injection.  What about his individual case? What about those children that it was really changing their quality of life.   I walk because I want my boys to have ability to breath on their own.  So many people take their lungs for granted................

Mother of two wonderful boys,
