Susan, Matt, Rachel and Brody

I walk primarily for my son Brody who was diagnosed with asthma at 12 months of age.  It began with the croupy, barky cough that wouldn't quit and many sleepless hours of breathing treatments.   The asthma took a toll on how hard he ran, played and rested.  We battled the symptoms with meds for about 4 years and began seeing the pediatric pulmonologist in 2006.  He has since seen the allergist and is allergic to pollen, dust, dogs, etc, etc… thankfully, with the help from our doctors, Brody is now well managed and is very active. He plays basketball, soccer and swims.

Secondly, I  walk for my daddy who was diagnosed with COPD and emphysema in the late 80's.  He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in the right lung in July of 2006 and after surgery has done incredibly well.  He is minus a lung but with the help of portable oxygen still enjoys gardening, camping and travelling with his wife of 50 years.

Finally, I walk for everyone that struggles with any of the diseases associated with asthma.  It is very debilitating and we need a cure.

God Bless!
