Dr. Andrea McKee is a partner at Radiation Oncology Associates, PA and currently serves as chairman of radiation oncology at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) Sophia Gordon Cancer Center in Burlington, MA, and Lahey Medical Center Peabody, in Peabody, MA. She received her medical degree from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her residency in radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as chief resident. In early 2012, Dr. McKee and a team of allied health professionals at LHMC initiated the Rescue Lung, Rescue Life community benefit CT lung screening program to save lives and open screening access to those at high risk for lung cancer regardless of financial means.
Dr. McKee has co-authored numerous seminal peer-reviewed publications on the design, implementation and management of clinical CT lung screening programs. She presently serves as Co-Director of the Massachusetts State CT Lung Screening Subcommittee, a member of the Massachusetts State Cancer Control Steering Committee and as advisory board member to the Lung Cancer Alliance and the American Lung Association.
Dr. McKee is an expert in lung cancer and lung cancer screening, with additional expertise in the health effects of air pollution, harms of tobacco use, tobacco cessation techniques, radon gas exposure, exercise and lung disease, youth smoking rates, secondhand smoke exposure, children's lung health, older Americans and lung health, nutrition and lung health and patient care.
