Vice President-Institutional Effectiveness/Research for Kirkwood Community College, Iowa

Alan Rowe, the representative delegate from the American Lung Association-Upper Midwest, is associate vice president-institutional effectiveness/research for Kirkwood Community College, responsible for strategic planning, accreditation, quality assurance, faculty professional development and grant development.

Mr. Rowe has been an active volunteer with the American Lung Association for more than two decades, serving in the areas of volunteer engagement, marketing/communication and organizational effectiveness. He is past Board Chair of the Upper Midwest charter. He is a two-time recipient of the Opal Fagle Award as Iowa’s Volunteer of the Year.

Mr. Rowe holds degrees from Coe College and the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He has been recognized as Iowa’s High School Principal of the Year, Iowa’s Central Office Administrator of the Year and Eastern Iowa’s Visionary Youth Leader. He is passionate about community building through youth-related initiatives and projects.
