New Help for Meeting Lung Health Costs

(February 27, 2012)

Medical costs for individuals with lung disease can be a considerable burden, particularly for those who may have just lost their jobs and health insurance or who have little or no income. A partnership between the American Lung Association and the Foundation for Health Coverage Education (FHCE) is making it easier to find out if help is available to assist with those medical costs and maintain the necessary prescribed treatments and medications for achieving your optimum lung health.

Uninsured individuals can call FHCE’s U.S. Uninsured Help Line 800_-234-1317 or take the non-profit’s five-question Eligibility Quiz to learn their eligibility for public and private health coverage programs that will cover many of the treatments and medications associated with lung disease. Each individual will receive a personalized list of health programs to fit their coverage needs—complete with program contact and cost information, sign-up checklists of important documents needed to enroll, and application links. Learn more about the FHCE and its Eligibility Services by visiting its website, www.CoverageForAll.org.
